American Express Global Business Travel and Carlson Wagonlit Travel partnered with Amadeus for its NDC-X program. The two global travel management companies will work with the global distribution system provider to test usage of New Distribution Capability-enabled connections.
“This will help GBT prepare to implement the industrialized version of the solution, which will include servicing capabilities, in 2019,” according to an Amadeus statement.
A quote attributed to Amex GBT EVP of global supplier relations Michael Qualantone indicated that the TMC expected NDC content to be “available through all points of sale, whether digital self-service or agent tools. No matter how the industry evolves, cost efficiency and service quality are always going to be among our top priorities.”
According to CWT SVP for global network and technology partners Vince Chirico, “Partnering with the GDS is the fastest way to realize the potential of NDC.”
Amadeus anticipates “global deployment” of NDC next year.
Both on Tuesday announced participation in Sabre’s similar initiative.
