Amadeus has applied for more U.S. patents since 2012 than it did during the prior decade, far outnumbering others in travel technology. It received grants on more than 100 patents during the past five years, according to a company spokesperson.
"Our innovation is intertwined with our intellectual property," according to the spokesperson. "Establishing a strong intellectual property rights approach supports our constant drive for innovation. Fundamentally, patenting is about originality, so patent protection is inherently sought for new functionalities."
