Migrating away from Travelport Digital, American Express Global Business Travel last month updated its Android and iOS mobile apps using fully proprietary technology.

New features include text chats with counselors, bookings on Booking.com and "action-oriented trips and segments, with contextual options based on where you are in your journey."

GBT also added an optional "import feature" allowing users to "add trips booked anywhere." Discussing the function during a teleconference last week, Amex VP of marketing and product strategy Evan Konwiser said email parsing was one component.
