Larger companies are more likely to use price assurance tools to reshop airfares and hotel rates, according to a Feb. 2024 GBTA survey.

Price assurance, or “reshopping,” is a process to audit purchased or identified travel options. When systems discover lower prices or more desirable products, they can cancel the old choice and secure a new one. They may be configured to do so automatically or with the traveler’s confirmation. They may be limited to searching options within a given flight or airline, or within a certain property, hotel brand or geographic area.

Emburse’s Tripbam has been a top provider of price assurance services. Some travel management companies offer their own systems, sometimes leading to questions about conflicts of interest.

The larger the company, the more likely it applies air and hotel price assurance for its travel program.
Most companies using air and/or hotel price assurance for travel programs are satisfied.
