[UPDATE, Feb. 6 2019: We provided new information about this development here.]

By next spring, all SAP Concur expense management system customers must switch to a “NextGen” version featuring an updated user interface. A “preview period” is underway and scheduled to run to September 2018. General availability would follow ahead of the March 29, 2019, mandatory cutover for all all users.

According to company info, the new UI is “designed to provide a modern, consistent and streamlined user experience.” The “most significant improvements” will relate to itemizing, viewing expense details and managing expenses for meeting attendees.

The UI also will be “accessible to all users – regardless of physical or cognitive ability.”

Concur suggested that administrators and “power users” use the preview period to familiarize themselves with the new UI and “process flows.” Functionality currently is limited; the company will add new and pre-existing features over time.

Concur indicated that the changes followed “extensive user research and data analytics.” The Concur mobile app is not changing as a result of the new desktop UI.
