Conferma relaunched its TripPay Android and iOS mobile app with a new name and some new features. Now called Conferma Pay, it is “the first app to support creating and receiving of virtual cards for business on a mobile device across multiple banking partners,” according to the company’s website.

As with pre-existing virtual cards, the app generates single-use numbers for approved purchases. Customers can allow “authorized” employees to create cards on their mobile devices. According to a statement from Conferma founder and CEO Simon Barker, the entire process takes less than three minutes.

Corporate users also can leave it to managers to pre-define specific amounts, dates and suppliers.

“Corporations typically find Conferma Pay works best to pay for e-commerce, including office stationary, settling visa fees, booking parking, paying for the train, ground transfers, conference fees, adding a bag during a flight check-in, ordering some food online if you’re working late, etc.,” according to Conferma. “If you can pay for it online with a card, Conferma Pay can be used instead.”

Conferma Pay also provides info on virtual card flight and hotel reservations booked through the user’s travel agency.

The company indicated that the new app, currently in a pilot phase, works on major card networks through more than 30 issuing banks.
