The 570, Part Two: The Job Search Is A Journey

During the past year, many had their worlds turned upside down. Careers came to abrupt pauses, leaving professionals wondering when and how they’d again be employed. The Company Dime offered free subscriptions to travel professionals who lost their positions due to the coronavirus and about 570 of you took us up on the offer.

To help those with questions about job searches, career opportunities, résumé building and interviewing, and to provide a forum for commiserating, networking and sharing, we’ve now created a two-part conference call based on feedback gathered from a survey of the 570.

Part Two is on May 13 at 12 p.m. EDT.

Part Two will focus on the job search journey, from personal brands and elevator pitches to networking advice and staying positive. We’ll also talk about all things career-related and, if you’re game, welcome you to share your story.

We’re excited to bring two distinguished guest speakers to this forum.

Maria Chevalier is EVP for customer success at PredictX, the predictive analytics and intelligence company. She’s a self-described data wonk and a veteran of multiple corporate travel roles, from a travel buyer with HP and Johnson & Johnson, to a consultant with BCD Travel, to a VP with Travelport, and a business travel sales leader with Hilton. Maria’s additional experiences in staffing and recruiting led her to a side gig that continues today which is the volunteer CTME Search Party.

Nick Reid is co-founder of Nomad.me, “the first travel subscription company offering members net airfares and hotel prices,” and also co-founded travel industry recruiting firm Travel Staff. He has experience in property management, hotel and resort brand management, airline management, tourism sales, association leadership for the meetings and incentives professions, restaurant management and entertainment travel.
