Spotnana VP of strategy and partnerships Johnny Thorsen last month called out airlines for disparities between pre-travel emissions estimates and a trip's actual impact. There are understandable reasons for gaps, but Thorsen and others say airlines should be more forthcoming about post-trip information.
To counteract discrepancies, Spotnana is creating what Thorsen called a "greenwashing ratio." It would show at the point of sale which airlines change equipment before departure more frequently than others "or provide false information at the point of booking . . .
