One of the more environmentally conscious corporate travel programs must do more. That's according to Microsoft leaders who on Thursday posted an update regarding their company's sustainability commitments. While Microsoft reduced Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions in its fiscal 2021 by 17 percent year over year, its overall Scope 3 emissions, including a minimal amount from business travel, jumped 23 percent. To account for the increase, the company will raise an internal carbon fee on business travel, effective July 1.
