Limo industry ties appeared in Scott Solombrino’s most important Global Business Travel Association hire — his “second-in-command.” The organization on Friday afternoon announced the appointment of a former exec at the executive director’s former chauffeured car company, Dav El Boston Coach, to a new role for the group.

As of today, Lisa Censullo is GBTA’s new executive vice president.

“She will partner closely with the executive director and board of directors on developing a strategic plan and operating model, impacting all areas of the business,” according to a press statement. “Censullo will focus on driving growth in membership, expanding GBTA’s global footprint, developing meaningful events, redesigning GBTA’s education model to further support member needs, growing into new verticals and generating new opportunities to drive GBTA to new heights.”

According to a short-lived job posting, the position pays between $250,000 and $300,000 annually.

Solombrino noted in his statement that GBTA’s mission was to become the “leading source of business travel knowledge worldwide.”

Solombrino was president and CEO of Dav El Boston Coach until last year. His two sons work there. Censullo spent five years at the company in various senior roles, finishing as chief administrative officer in 2017 and 2018.

Since November Censullo served as COO of legal services company Advanced Depositions.
