How Good Is Apple’s Deal With United? Here Are Some Benchmarks

It's tempting to try to ascertain Apple's discount on business class airfares between San Francisco and Shanghai after this month's leak of United Airlines client information. The info wasn't detailed enough to draw firm conclusions, but industry providers can offer some context.

According to banners posted at a United staff event, Apple purchases 50 business class seast per day between San Francisco and Shanghai. It spends $35 million annually with United on that route alone. That's good for an average fare of roughly $3,836 . . .
