To which department does travel management report? It's usually procurement and/or finance, administration or shared services. Cardinal Health is an exception. About a year ago, it shifted travel management from procurement to security.

"The world is changing," said Cardinal Health global travel manager Jill Huffman. "Duty of care has become the No. 1 priority for many companies." Along with safety, traveler satisfaction was top of mind for Huffman. She wanted a more holistic program focused on strategy and not narrowly on cost, and figured the realignment would help accomplish that.
